Money bank in the shape of a Ladybug, made from a gourd. Cute and functional.
Everyone likes money; and ladybugs bring good luck. So why not put the money and the luck together? Yes, it's a Ladybug Bank!
This cute thing is made from half of a cannonball gourd, about 5 inches in diameter. Its head is part of another gourd. The colors are those of traditional Ladybugs -- red and black. Although the black was painted, the red of the body was dyed, to allow the natural markings of the gourd to show. The money slot is centered on the back, where the wings meet. The spots are symmetrical, as expected. The plywood tummy has a rubber stopper to empty the money.
